Nonogams, also known as pic-a-pix, paint by numbers puzzles, crucipixel, edel, figurepic, grafilogika, japanilaiset, karala, kare, logicolor, logigraphe, oekaki, pikurosu or ristikot, started appearing in Japanese puzzle magazines. Non Ishida published three picture grid puzzles in 1988 in Japan under the name of "Window Art Puzzles". Subsequently in 1990, James Dalgety in the UK invented the name Nonograms after Non Ishida, and The Sunday Telegraph started publishing them on a weekly basis.

In this puzzle type, the numbers measure how many unbroken lines of filled-in squares there are in any given row or column. To solve a puzzle, one needs to determine which cells will be boxes and which will be empty. Later in the solving process, the spaces help determine where a clue may spread. Solvers use a dot to mark cells they are certain are spaces.

Im not an app-buyer but this game is great. I really hope more puzzle come out soon. I go through rather quickly because this game is so awesome!

This is the first time I did this kind of puzzle and Im hooked. Its fun, addictive and challenging.

I have completed all the puzzles they need to add more puzzles more often. Love the game is my favourite app

I love this game. Wish they would update with more puzzles more often.

Ive been playing this for years (there are LOTS of puzzles in the premium version), its the only mobile game I never get tired of.

I pass time with this game all the time, a classic intellectual stimulation.

Some bad moments

I loved this game when all the puzzles were free, Ive had it and the other version for a while, but since it updated its $4.99 to get all the puzzles. Ridiculous. Just deleted the app.

You can play the first few easy levels, but have to pay to play anything else. Amounts to only a few hours of free puzzles, if even that.

I purchased this game in 2013 and actually like the game a lot. The problem is that when I installed the latest update it locked me out of the puzzles as if I never purchased it. I emailed the developer and have yet to receive a response. Good game, but I cant recommend it because of this

The game keeps automatically closing out, and I lose my progress on the current puzzle. Also you need to watch a video to unlock each puzzle. Otherwise its a good game to pass the time.

Love the original, want to continue playing, cant access premium key

Fun game with a variety of puzzles, but every day or so erases all of the puzzles you have done.
